A PEOPLE HATED AMONG ALL NATIONS

We Hebrew Israelites believe that one of the identifying signs of the true Israelites is worldwide hatred, rejection, and persecution. As the words of Christ point out in passages such as Matthew 24:9: “ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” this is connected with the covenant curses given in Book of Deuteronomy 28, where Israel would become “an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword” among the nations. We Understand these verses as describing a people who would be mocked, stereotyped, oppressed, and scattered across the world while losing their original identity, language, and homeland.

We also connect this idea to prophecies in Book of Jeremiah and other books that describe Israel being scattered and afflicted among the nations because of disobedience to God’s laws. We believe that the history of slavery, colonialism, segregation, and ongoing discrimination experienced by Black people in the Americas, Africa, and throughout the world mirrors those biblical warnings. This hatred is not only social or historical, but spiritual — believing that the nations oppose the covenant people and the commandments of God. Because of this, the awakening to our identity, repentance, unity, and returning to biblical laws as part of the restoration process prophesied throughout scripture.
