We believe that the curses described in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 28 identify the scattered children of Israel in the last days. These verses speak about slavery, oppression, being removed from our homeland, losing our language and heritage, and suffering under other nations. Deuteronomy 28:68 speaks about Israel being taken into Egypt again with ships, which we Hebrew Israelites understand prophetically speaking as of the transatlantic slave trade. We also connect the chapter to the conditions listed throughout the curses: broken families, poverty, fear, violence, and being at the “tail” among nations rather than the “head.” Because many descendants of enslaved Africans in the Americas experienced these conditions historically, We Hebrew Israelites see these similarities as fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
