Humility is a must for a good prayer
Recognize Yahawah Above All Things
True prayer begins with humility. Scripture repeatedly teaches that Yahawah is sovereign, and man has no power apart from Him.
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” (James 4:10)
Prayer is not approaching an equal—it is approaching the Creator. Recognizing His authority removes pride and self-reliance.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says Yahawah.” (Zechariah 4:6)
This establishes the foundation: anything asked must acknowledge dependence on Him.
Acknowledge Your Need for Forgiveness
Before presenting requests, Scripture teaches repentance and confession.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.” (1 John 1:9)
“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12)
This reflects that prayer is not only asking, but also cleansing. A humble heart comes before Yahawah aware of its shortcomings.
Ask According to His Will, Not Personal Desire Alone
Prayer is not about forcing outcomes, but aligning with Yahawah’s will.
“If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
“Not my will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)
This principle keeps prayer from becoming self-centered. Requests are made, but submission to Yahawah’s will remains higher than personal desire.
Avoid Vain Repetition and Empty Words
Scripture directly warns against repetitive, meaningless prayer patterns.
“When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” (Matthew 6:7)
Prayer is not measured by length or repetition, but sincerity. Yahawah already knows what is needed before it is spoken:
“Your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:8)
Pray in Secret, Not for Public Recognition
Prayer is not meant to be a display for others to admire.
“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites… that they may be seen of men.” (Matthew 6:5)
“But when you pray, enter into your closet… and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.” (Matthew 6:6)
The focus is intimacy with Yahawah, not human approval.
