Prepare Your Heart Before You Pray

Prayer in Scripture is not treated as a performance, ritual display, or repetition of empty words. It is a direct, humble communication with Yahawah, rooted in sincerity, obedience, and reverence. The Bible outlines not only how to pray, but also how to prepare the heart before prayer is even spoken.

Scripture emphasizes that Yahawah looks at the heart, not outward appearance. Before prayer, a believer is instructed to examine themselves and align their life with righteousness.

One key step is resolving conflict and correcting wrongs with others:

• “If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there… first be reconciled to your brother.” (Matthew 5:23–24)

This shows that reconciliation is part of spiritual preparation. Prayer is hindered when bitterness, division, or unresolved sin is ignored.

• “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” (Psalm 66:18)

Before asking anything, the believer must ensure their walk is not in open contradiction to Yahawah’s commandments.
