THE BIBLE SAYS THE JEWS WERE DARK SKINNED

A Hebrew Israelites understand that the “original Israelites” in the Bible were dark-skinned or Black, and they are several passages to support that understanding. In Book of Acts 13:1, it is noted that one of the prophets in the church at Antioch is called “Simeon that was called Niger.” The word “Niger” is often understood as “black” or “dark,” and this is one of the strongest pieces of evidence that point believers in Israel’s lineage that they were Black or dark-skinned.

The Book of Lamentations 4:8 and 5:10, which describe the people’s skin as “blacker than a coal” or “black like an oven” due to famine, suffering, and extreme hardship during the destruction of Jerusalem. We understand these descriptions as indicating the natural complexion of Israelites or as confirmation that they were already dark-skinned people whose appearance became even darker through affliction.
