🕎 HANUKKAH – FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Hanukkah is an eight-day celebration that commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration. It honors the historical account of the Maccabees, who restored the Temple and reestablished worship after it was reclaimed.

Central to Hanukkah is the lighting of the menorah, where one additional candle is lit each night, symbolizing perseverance, dedication, and the continuation of light in times of difficulty. The festival also includes prayers, thanksgiving, and gatherings within families and communities.

According to an observational lunar count system, Hanukkah in this cycle is expected to fall between December 04 and December 12, beginning at sunset each evening as the 25th day of Kislev aligns with the lunar month progression.
